A Former Convict Launches the Music of Road To Sangam

The music of the movie Road To Sangam was released in a unique fashion. A former convict named Laxman Gore launched the music of the film. The movie's cast - Paresh Rawal, Tom Alter and Pawan Malhotra - were also present at the event along with director Amit Rai. Mahatma Gandhi's great grandson Tushar Gandhi was also present at the event.



 

Movie Story


Road To Sangam is the story of a devout Muslim Hasmat Ullah and his struggle against religious fundamentalism. Life changes for Hasmat when he is entrusted with the job of repairing an old V8 Ford engine. Hasmat fails to realize that the truck had once carried the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi. 

When a powerful bomb rips apart the town, Hasmat is caught in the middle of a complex situation. Muslim youths are caught in connection with the blast and to protest the arrests, leaders of the Muslim community call a strike.

The sudden turn of events place place Hasmat at the crossroads and force him to make difficult choices; either surrender to the demands of his community or restore the V8 engine while inviting the wrath of the community.

What choice will Hasmat make? Will he succumb to the pressures of the community? Will he restore the V8?

Cast: Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Pavan Malhotra, Javed Sheikh, Swati Chitins, Masood Akhtar, Yusuf Hussain, G P Singh, Rajan Bhise, Rakesh Shrivastava, Sudhir Nema and Vijay Mishra. Tushar Gandhi appears in a guest role.
