Producer Amita Pathak reveals that the story idea of her film Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? is inspired from a real incident when a guest was not willing to leave their home. "My brother Abhishek thought a movie can be made from this incident. After discussing it with my father (Kumar Mangat) we involved director Ashwini Dhir, who prepared an interesting script from the incident," says Amita to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
Amita had made her acting debut with Haal-E-Dil in 2008. Adarsh asks her the reason why she didn't give herself another chance at acting and instead ventured into production. "I have not quit acting because it is my passion. I am acting in a Priyadarshan film," says Amita.
Puneet (Ajay Devgan) and Munmun (Konkona Sen Sharma) are a happily married couple who live in Mumbai with their son and are content with their life and their individual careers. When Chachaji shows no intention of leaving, the exasperated couple is forced to make several schemes to force their guest to leave, often with hilarious results.
