Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have decided to boycott the Filmfare Awards as they have not received an apology from a tabloid (owned by a top media brand which also owns Filmfare) for publishing baseless news about Aishwarya.

The newspaper had reported that Aishwarya is unable to conceive as she is suffering from stomach tuberculosis. The Bachchans were miffed after reading the report as they claim it to be completely false. Hence, they demanded an apology from the newspaper. When the apology failed to materialize, the Bachchans decided to boycott the awards function. At the function, Aishwarya was also slated to perform; however, the performance became a casualty of the Bachchans boycott.
