Boman Irani explains the logic behind the unique title of Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu starrer movie, 99.

"The movie 99 is set in the year 1999," informs Boman Irani. "Secondly, the film deals with gambling and cricket betting. The year 1999 was also when the cricket betting scam was unearthed. There are two songs in the film, and the story is plot based. It is a thriller and there is a lot of tension in the film. It is fast, slick and fully of energy."

Movie Story

99 is a comedy set in the year 1999. The film's characters have one thing in common - speaking metaphorically, they are all stuck at 99 in their respective lives, and are looking out for that one elusive run to complete their century, or in other words to make it big in life.

The film is spread over two cities with colorful characters, unbelievable circumstances, small-time crooks, big-time conspiracies, car crashes, loads of coffee, a briefcase full of money, a budding romance... and a historical controversy brewing in the background.

Kunal Khemu plays Sachin, who is full of big ideas but he is unable to implement any of them, while Soha Ali Khan plays Pooja, a typical Delhi girl who is pretty wild. Boman Irani plays Rahul, an ordinary guy with an ordinary job who thinks he has figured out how luck works. Cyrus Broacha pays Zaramud, Sachin's friend who constantly lands Sachin and himself in trouble. Vinod Khanna plays JC, who likes to live big, it doesn't matter whether it is by hook or crook.
