Jack (Adam Goldberg) and Marion (Julie Delpy) are a New York-based couple. Jack is an interior decorator by profession and Marion is a photographer. They are trying hard to salvage their relationship and decide to take a trip to Europe in an attempt to rekindle the love they had for each other.
After a harrowing experience in Venice, Jack and Marion decide to spend the last two days of their vacation at Marion's home in Paris. Jack has high hopes of Paris and is sure that the love capital of the world will help him repair his damaged relationship with Marion.
But Paris is nowhere close to what Jack expected. Marion's overtly caring parents and encounters with a string of Marion's ex-lovers throws Jack in a constant state of paranoia. Meanwhile Jack's obsession with capturing every moment of their vacation on camera rather than experiencing it, starts to kill Marion's joy of returning home.
As the trip, that was intended to bring Jack and Marion's relationship back from ruins draws to an end, any hope of re-infusing love in their hearts seems a distant possibility. The couple starts arguing and bickering about everything.
