Nikita Mikhalkov remakes the 1957 Hollywood classic 12 Angry Men, with an element of difference. 12 Angry Men is already remade in various languages, including Basu Chatterjee's Ek Ruka Hua Faisla, and in various forms like theatre, television, etc.
The story revolves around twelve jurors sitting inside a room, who must decide the fate of a teenager charged for his father's murder. The twelve jurors include people from different occupations including a racist taxi driver, a suspicious doctor, a TV producer, a musician, a cemetery manager, etc.
At the start of the discussion, everyone in the room has no doubt about the teenager being guilty, except one. The one exception irritates the other eleven members as they take him to be stupid. The rest of the story narrates how that one person changes the beliefs of the other eleven jurors.
