Movie Story

The Karate Kid is a remake of the 1984 classic of the same name. The original film starred Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita while the remake stars Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan.

Dre Parker (Jaden Smith), a happy go lucky twelve-year old from America, is forced to migrate to China because of his mother's career move. Over there, Dre falls head over heels for his pretty classmate Mei Ying. Even Mei Ying has feelings for Dre but there is no hope for their relationship because of their cultural differences. If this wasn't enough, Dre becomes an enemy of Mei's ex-boyfriend Cheng. Dre gets bullied by his classmates who are well trained in Karate.

At this moment, Mr Han (Jackie Chan), a Karate exponent, enters Dre's life as a blessing. Han, not only teaches him the art of Karate, but also enlightens him to some vital and useful lessons in life in order to fight his enemies.
