Known for experimenting with his roles and characterizations, King Khan is all set to drift apart from the stereotypical image of a romantic hero in his new movie. According to sources, the Baazigar actor would be playing the role of a man suffering from Asperger's Syndrome in the movie My Name is Khan, directed by Karan Johar.
Khan's character bears similarity to that of child actor Darsheel Safary in the film Taare Zameen Par. In the film, he suffers from a mild form of autism called Asperger's Syndrome where he faces difficulty in social interaction, stereotypical patterns of behavior and interests. Darsheel, as Ishan Avasthi, was dyslexic in the movie directed by Aamir Khan.
SRK portrays a suspected militant afflicted with this condition.
Bollywood actress Kajol plays opposite Shah Rukh. Karan Johar is hopeful of this film being a success after his failure at the box-office in the duo's last film Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.
