Talking about the concept and story of Aa Dekhen Zara, writers Sheershak and Shantanu insist that it was the last script they expected to make from among a lot of other scripts. "It's a concept film about two people falling in love with the extraordinary gift of the camera. We thought it would take a while to get into production," explains Shantanu. Sheershak adds, "When we started writing the script we realized it was not going to be an easy task because it was totally original and we had no reference point. We wrote about 79 drafts until we finalized the script."

 

Director Jehangir Surti claims that the USP of the script is the concept itself which, he claims, has never been filmed before. "The camera is the X factor of the film," Surti reveals, "Which pretty much destroys the ordinary lives of the characters. How they deal with these severely extraordinary situations is what the film is all about."

Neil Nitin Mukesh, who plays the lead character of Ray in Aa Dekhen Zara says about the title of the film, "The relevance of Aa Dekhen Zara as the title for this film is quite simple. It's about a boy who gets a camera which shows what's going to happen in the coming days."

Bipasha Basu, who has been cast opposite Neil, says she has never seen a film like this in the Hindi film format. "It's a film which deals with romance and is, at the same time, a thriller," says Bipasha. She plays the character of Simi, a Bengali girl from Kolkata. "She is a modern girl, who is independent. She aspires to achieve a lot in life but at the same time she is very honest, very firm, and a very loving person. She's the kind of person, who would like to guide her lover to the right track always," reveals Bipasha about her character.

Talking about director Jehangir Surti, Bipasha says, "Jehangir Surti is one of the most lenient directors I have worked with." Neil thinks Surti was the perfect director for Aa Dekhen Zara. "Personally I thought he was the apt person to make this film because it required a simplicity in its story telling," says Neil. "It needed a certain connect point for all the characters - to execute all of these things at one point of time. Only one name came to mind and that was Jehangir Surti."

Movie Story

Ray Acharya (Neil Nitin Mukesh) is a struggling photographer with a strange obsession of clicking pictures of anything and everything, including himself, whenever he travels.

Ray gets a camera from his grandfather which changes his life. While it wins him the love of Simi (Bipasha Basu), a DJ, it also sucks Ray into mysteriously and dangerous circumstances.

Is there some mysterious power behind the camera? Will Ray be able to keep his sanity in his race against fate?
