Surinder Sahni or Soori (Shah Rukh Khan) loses his lust for life but starts regaining it after marrying the much younger Taani (Anushka Sharma). She, however, does not love him and is bored of the marriage. One day she sees the offer to participate in a dance reality show and jumps at the chance. To make his wife happy, Soori undergoes a makeover and participates alongside his wife as her partner Raj. Failing to realize it is her husband, Taani starts falling in love with her co-contestant Raj.
The audience came out of the theatre after the first day first show of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with smiles on their faces. The come back film of Aditya Chopra, after Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge (1995) and Mohabbatein (2000) does not disappoint. The reactions to the film varied from amazing to the best. Though everyone agreed that the Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge magic could not be recreated, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi's music definitely comes close.
Director Kunal Kohli's appearance along with other officials of the Yash Raj banner at the theatre was a pleasant surprise.

Bobby gives such a makeover to Surinder that no one, including Taani, can not recognize him.
Luck makes Surinder Taani's dance partner. Surinder introduces himself to Taani as Raj. As Raj, Surinder is a completely different person, uninhibited, outspoken and garishly loud.
