Ram Gopal Varma is one filmmaker who is always exploring new social themes in his film. "He always picks something that is happening around him and spins a story around it," says Madhu Mantena, one of the producers of Varma's Rann, while chatting with trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

Sheetal Talwar, the other producer of Rann, believes that although Ramu has made films on a large number of topics, all his films are human stories with an emotional context. "Similarly in Rann, Ramu has established an emotional context with the background of media and politics," says Talwar.

Mantena and Talwar are unfazed about Ramu's not-so-impressive track record at the box-office. However, if the movie doesn't succeed, Mantena and Talwar are ready to take the blame on them as they feel they have not promoted their movie well.
