Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) has always been media's darling. He does not disappoint at the event to introduce Anushka Sharma, even though the occasion was meant to be her show.

When queried the reason for keeping Anushka away from the media for so long, pat comes the reply from SRK. "We wanted the audience and media to first see some of her work and then meet her so that relevant questions could be asked. You had to see for yourself that she is a good actress," the Bollywood Khan replies. .

Though Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi vindicates the hype created around the movie, is the reigning superstar happy with the audience response? The question assumes importance as the movie was released just two weeks after the unprecedented terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

"I was not troubled about whether the film would do well or not, as I share the same sentiment that the country is undergoing right now. I cannot ask people to come watch the film at a time like this but I also realize that my job is to make people smile," explains the actor.

SRK's belief in destiny is evident when he explains the title of his film. "I believe that God has a hand in every relationship and association we make. Attachment to some people cannot be explained and that is where Rab comes in," smiles King Khan.

Trivia

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi's teaser trailer was released on November 2, 2008. SRK was born the same day in 1965 and turned 43 on the day the trailer was released.

Movie Story

Surinder Sahni (Shah Rukh Khan) works for Punjab Power Corporation. A simple and shy person, Surinder falls in love with bubbly and bold Taani (Anushka Sharma), the moment he sees her.

Circumstances force Taani to marry Surinder after her fiancé's death. However, Taani makes it clear to Surinder that she will never be able to love him.

Surinder sees Taani smile first time after ages when she decides to join a dance school and participate in a dance competition. While Surinder looks for ways to win Taani's heart, his friend Bobby (Vinay Pathak) urges him to join dance classes too, to be near Taani. Bobby gives such a makeover to Surinder that no one, including Taani, can not recognize him.

Luck makes Surinder Taani's dance partner. Surinder introduces himself to Taani as Raj. As Raj, Surinder is a completely different person, uninhibited, outspoken and garishly loud.

One day, Raj expresses his love to Taani. After refusing initially, Taani thinks Raj is the ideal person for her. Surinder is sad; Taani loves Raj and not Surinder, his real self. The tale of man's struggle to win his love ends on a happy note.
