After Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, it seems Shahid Kapoor is trying to get close to his new co-star Anushka Sharma. The couple, who have been paired in Yashraj Films' next, have become an item after just 10 days of shooting, say sources.

Movie Story

Shahid Kapoor known in Bollywood for his cute boy-next door look is remembered for his portrayal of Aditya Kashyap, a dejected young industrialist full of angst and despair in the 2007 hit movie Jab We Met, opposite ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor.

Before starting off his career as an actor, Kapoor worked in several music videos and ads, including the Pepsi commercial with Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji.  Shahid was also seen as one of the background dancers in the song Kahiin Aag Lage Lag Jawe from Subhash Ghai's film Taal.

Shahid debuted as a lead actor in Ken Ghosh's moderately successful love story Ishq Vishk, where he played a carefree college going youth. The movie was well received by the critics and Shahid's performance won him the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award.

Shahid's performances in movies such as Fida and Shikar were appreciated by the critics. Both the movies, however, failed to create ripples at the box office, and his much hyped suspense movie, 36 China Town came in for a lot of criticism although it did manage to do moderately well at the box-office. Shortly after the release of 36 China Town, Priyadarshan's comedy Chup Chup Ke gained modest success at the box office.

Shahid was widely appreciated by the critics and the audience alike, for his portrayal of a young man on the threshold of marriage in Sooraj Barjatiya's Vivaah.  The movie was a blockbuster hit and it remains Shahid's highest grossing movie till date.

In 2007, Shahid appeared in two movies. His first release was Ahmed Khan's Fool N Final. The movie received negative reviews and was a box office disaster. His next release, Imtiaz Ali's comedy-romance Jab We Met opposite Kareena Kapoor, became one of the biggest hits of the year. Shahid's performance in the film won him several nominations for Best Actor at a number of award ceremonies, including Filmfare.

Aziz Mirza's Kismat Konnection opposite Vidya Balan was Kapoor's only release in 2008. The film performed moderately well at the office.

Shahid, born on February 25, 1981, is the son of the critically acclaimed actor Pankaj Kapur and actor/classical dancer Neelima Azeem. Shahid's parents divorced when he was three. After the divorce of his parents, he lived with his mother but continues to share a good relationship with his father and stepmother Supriya Pathak.

Shahid and Kareena Kapoor ended their relationship, but the reasons behind the separation remain a mystery.
