Noted critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh interviews Viki Rajani, the producer and Jehangir Surti, the director of Aa Dekhen Zara (ADZ).
Asked why he decided to produce ADZ, Rajani says, "We had a very unique concept with all the elements of a Bollywood masala film. When I heard the concept, I said this movie should be made. Also, I wanted to work with a young director and we had a lot of sessions with Jehangir and I felt he knew the treatment needed for the movie."
For director Jehangir Surti, the offer of a unique story was too hard to resist. "I wanted to add my touch to the film," says Surti.
"And when Viki and I had a few talks we realised that we were on the same wave length. We wanted the film to have a very real approach because the film had a supernatural element in it. We also wanted to make it racy and fast-paced," he adds.
The film was initially christened Freeze, but was later changed to Aa Dekhen Zara.
Asked if Bipasha, the leading lady didn't look a little older than leading man Neil, Viki replied, "I think the chemistry between both the characters is amazing on screen. You've seen the song and the promos and it looks like a complete package. The age difference doesn't show."
