Story:-

Mike Enslin, (John Cusack) is a writer and an avid investigator, specializing in the 'paranormal'. After years of struggle and failure to find anything, Mike wants to give up his interest and search for evidence of 'The Other Side'. One day he hears of a strange happening, which could be the subject of his new book. Room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel, NY, has been the site for a dozen of deaths. Determined to prove the rumors of the haunted room wrong, he decides to stay in the room itself. Even the hotel manager Mr. Olin (Samuel L Jackson) could not dissuade him from staying. Once inside the room, the room decides to play mind games with Mike.
