Manasi Scott is Excited Playing Herself

Manasi Scott, the diva who had pop music buffs dancing to her tunes, is making a comeback after two years. After the stupendous success of Naach Le, Manasi was nowhere to be seen. Mypopkorn caught up with her at Meet Bros Music Co., when she was recording her, yet untitled, second album.

Few would remember that long time back Manasi had acted in a serial called Millee on Star Plus. She played Nina, the second lead; but suddenly Manasi disappeared from the serial. Where did she vanish?

"I did 35 episodes of Millee. I had a world tour coming up. My album released, and they gave me a choice - either be the part of the serial or participate in the world tour. It had to be the world tour because singing was my first love,” explains Manasi.

Manasi has had her share of fame down south too. Even before Millee, she had acted in a film in the South. “But that was not a great experience for me. Film industry is not a good place for women. So I shied away from the big screen,” Manasi reminisces.

So, will we never see Manasi on the big screen again? “No. I am going to South Africa to shoot for Vashu Bhagnani's film. I am doing a cameo in it. I am playing myself in the film. So it's quite exciting,” says Manasi with a twinkle in her eyes.
