Artist Biography

Mehsopuria derived his professional name from his family village, named Mehsumpur in Punjab. Born in UK, Mehsopuria learnt keertans in traditional ragas from Ustaad Ajit Singh Mutlashi.

The traditional Punjabi lyrics of his debut album 'Mehsopuria', set to almost completely traditional tunes, provided a refreshing alternate to the bhangra fans of the UK and turned the album into a chart topper. Unlike other Club music makers, Mehsopuria used only some heavy beats for a few of his tracks. He has also completely resisted using English lyrics for his music.

The Album was released in India and soon became the most popular bhangra album across the country. He soon gained worldwide popularity, as his “Tumka II”, “Punoo Haniya”, “Ranjha Jogi” and “Ranglay Punjab Diyaan” rocked the dance floors

His second Album “Warrior' was released in 2007.
