Significance of Durga Puja
The Divine Mother, Durga, is worshipped in her many forms, for ten days during the festival of Durga Puja. Though the goddess is one, she is worshipped in her many forms during the days of the Puja. Out of the ten days, the first 3 days are dedicated towards the worship of Durga. The following three days, she is worshipped as Laxmi while the last three nights, the spirit of Saraswati is invoked. The last day of the festival is celebrated at Vijayadasami, meaning Day of Victory. The day is celebrated as victory of good over evil and the victory over one's own mind.
