Introduced to the sarod at a young age, he has been trained by his father, Pandit Aloke Lahiri, one of the most respected sarod players of modern India.

 
At the young age of 24, Abhisek has the distinction of giving a solo performance at the Europe Parliament in Strasburg, France.

 
Abhisek is also ranked as an “A Grade” sarod artist of All India Radio and Indian National Television. He has won several musical contests as well, including the All India Radio Music Competition and has also won the Rashtriya Gaurav Award.
