Pappu Pass Ho Gaya

A short film directed by Raj Singh, Pappu Pass Ho Gaya is a reflection of the present day society. The film very effectively shows the different set of values people have towards themselves and their children. Pappu is a lazy boy, hailing from a poor family. His father is unemployed and his mother does odd jobs for a living. His parents have absolutely no expectations from him and expect him to do badly in studies. As against Pappu and his parents, Anjali's parents have high expectations from her. She comes from a well to do family and her parents want her to become a scientist. When the examination results are announced, Pappu's parents are proud as he manages to pass. Anjali's parents are disconsolate and depressed as she fails to find a berth in the merit list. But when they see the happiness of Pappu's mother, they realize their mistake and celebrate Anjali's success. The film very subtly sends out a message on how children must be treated in the competitive world we live in today. Having high expectations is bad, having no expectations at all is equally wrong.
