Trials and tribulations faced by 23-year-old Shiven has left him depressed. Sitting on a seaside promenade in Mumbai, he ruminates about his life; the pain becomes unbearable and tears flow down his cheek. A passerby enquires the time with Shiven and seeks him crying. When the stranger enquires the matter, Shiven opens up and narrates the sad story of his life. Shiven's parents got divorced while he was still a child. Forced to live with his grandmother, he suffers another setback when he loses his right leg in an accident. His effort to drown his miseries in the love of his childhood girlfriend also fails with destiny playing spoilsport. The childhood sweetheart marries another person which leaves Shiven plunging deeper and deeper into the quicksand of unhappiness and gloom. The death of his beloved grandmother – his only hope and reason for putting up the drudgery of daily existence – proves to be the proverbial last nail in the coffin. With no reason to live for and no one to care, Shiven shares with the stranger, his laments. Moved by the tragic life story the stranger-turned-friend consoles and advices Shiven. The stranger shares a mantra with Shiven: whatever happens, happens for the good.
