Abhishek, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Escape Narrowly as Elephant Runs Amok

Jul 30, 2009: Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai had a narrow escape, when an elephant ran amok killing the mahaut during the shooting of Mani Ratnam's Ravana.

 

Sources said, the elephant went out of control reportedly due to overwork. The shooting of the film is currently on in Kerala's Thrissur district.

 

Both Abhishek and Aishwarya, who were sitting at a distance were immeditaley moved to safer places.



 

Background

Bollywood's hot couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are slated to play role of Lord Rama and Sita in Mani Ratnam's forthcoming movie Ravan.

The couple presently stays at Juhu.

Comment: Elephants should not be overworked or troubled.Strict
restrictions on handling and using of these gentle giants is
neccessary.Elephants have a period of time during
"musth" when they are violent and have to be given
rest and and segregated. These reports paint elephants as
violent but in fact when handled well are gentle. We the
citizens of india should save and protect all animals for
posterity.
