Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is representing India at the Summit.

 

India has maintained that developed nations were responsible for the present financial crisis as well as problems arising out of climate change.



 

Background

G-8 is a group of industrialized nations. The countries include Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, United Kingdom, US.

Besides, these eight countries, five developing nations - Brazil, China, India, Mexico and South Africa participate as Outreach Five (O5) or Plus Five in the Summit.
