Jet Airways Strike: Negotiations between Management and Pilots Begin

Sep 9, 2009: Negotiations between striking pilots and Jet Airways management began on Wednesday.

 

Pilots are protesting sacking of two pilots from the airline.

 

Meanwhile, Jet Airways chairman Naresh Goyal threatened to shut down the airline if pilots continued with the strike.

 

Several domestic as well as international flights of Jet Airways were cancelled due to the strike.



 

Background

Earlier in October, the airline had sacked 800 employees and was planning to remove 1,100 others. However, after large scale protest, the company was forced to take them back.
