Sep 8, 2009: Priyadarshan directed Kanchivaram won the best film award at the National Film Awards 2007.

 

Prakash Raj was adjudged the best actor for the same film, while Uma Shri walked away with the best actress award for Gulabi Talkies.

 

Sharad Govekar was given the award for best child actor for his role in Marathi movie Tingya.

 

Taare Zameen Par and Chak De India too won laurels at the film awards.
