Jun 19, 2009: Delhi Police on Thursday revealed that Lashkar-e- Toiba (LeT) operative Mohammad Omar Madni had provided training to Maoists from Jharkhand in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

 

The police said that they had recovered a dairy from Madni which revealed that he was given the task of convincing and inducting Maoists based in Jharkhand to undergo training in PoK.

 

Madni and his accomplices would keep in touch with the naxalites through e-mails, police said.

 

Madni, arrested on June 4 from Mehrauli area of New Delhi, was produced before a court in Delhi on Friday (June 19) after his 14 day remand expired.

 

Madni's police custody was extended by seven days.
