June 10 (0800 hrs) Mystery still shrouded the suicide by a 25-year-old air hostess in a Santa Cruz hotel on Sunday.
The air hostess, identified as Suchitra Anand, was found hanging from the ceiling of her room in Palm Grove hotel in suburban Santa Cruz. Suchitra hailed from Delhi and was employed with Indigo airlines.
Suchitra’s body was discovered by hotel employees, who opened the room with a spare key after she failed to open the door
Suchitra, who was married, has not left behind a suicide note. The 25-year-old joined the private airline last year.
The mortal remains were handed over to her brother after post mortem and were later taken to Delhi.
Police suspect dowry harassment by her in-laws led to the extreme step. Her parents had lodged a complaint against her in-laws for seeking dowry.
Delhi software engineer commits suicide
In yet another incident of increasing suicides among youths, a 22-year-old software engineer committed suicide in Delhi.
The deceased has been identified as Vanshika. The 22-year-old was married and resided at Rohini
The motive behind the suicide was still not known.

Police on Sunday arrested eight supporters of Shikohabad MLA for assaulting a lawyer. The lawyer, identified as Subhash Solanki was allegedly assaulted by Shikohabad
MLA Ashok Yadav.
Yadav and his supporters thrashed Solanki after the lawyer’s car intruded into the MLA's convoy in Faridabad.
MP home minister’s son assaults policeman
Madhya Pradesh police has registered a case against Lakshmi Ahirwal, son of state home minister Ram Prasad Ahirwal, for assaulting a police constable on Sunday.
According to the complaint, Lakshmi and his supporters barged into the policeman’s house and assaulted him.
Lakshmi has denied his role in the incident, claiming it was orchestrated by political rivals to tarnish his image.
Ahirwal was recently inducted into the Shivraj Singh Chauhan-led ministry as home minister.
Met forecasts heavy showers in next 24 hours
Hopes of respite from heavy showers will continue to elude Mumbaikars, as the met department has forecasted three days of continuous showers over the city in the next 24 hours.
Three days of incessant rains over the weekend resulted in waterlogging and inundation of low-lying areas in the city, affecting rail and road traffic.
Gujjar agitation: Stalemate over talks continues
Stalemate between the Gujjar leaders and the Rajasthan Government continued on Sunday with both parties disagreeing over modalities of the talks.
Gujjar leader Col K S Bainsla denied he had received any invite from the government for talks, while the government asserted it had sent a detailed proposal.
More than 46 people have so far died in the Gujjar agitation, which began on May 19 at Bayana in Rajasthan.
The Gujjars have been demanding a letter of recommendation from Rajasthan Government to the Centre in support of scehedul status for their community.

The woman, identified as Suchitra Anand worked for Indigo Airlines. Her dead body was found at Palm Grove hotel room at suburban Santacruz after hotel attendant alerted authorities.
Suchitra was found hanging by hotel employee who entered the room with the help of a spare key after she failed to respond to earlier calls to permit the staff in.
Hailing from Delhi, Suchitra who was married and worked with the private airline for the last one year, did not leave any suicide note behind.
Her body was collected by her brother early on Saturday and taken to Delhi.
Police suspect involvement of victim’s in-laws in the murder as Sucitra’s parents had registered a case of dowry against her in-laws.
Delhi software engineer commits suicide
A software engineer committed suicide at her own residence at Rohini in Delhi in a sensational incident that hints at the disturbing trend of increasing suicidal deaths in urban metropolis.
The deceased, identified as 22-year old Vanshika was a software engineer by profession and was married for the last one year.
The cause of her death is still unknown and police are investigating the incident.
Another violence involving an MLA, lawyer beaten
Close on the heels of State fisheries minister Jamuna Nishad resigning from his post following his alleged involvement in the murder of a constable, another violence involving MLA surfaced in UP, highlighting the sorry state of affairs of law and order situation.
The lawyer, Subhash Solanki was allegedly thrashed by a local MLA and supporters in Faridabad after the vehicle in which he was traveling went into the convoy of MLAs cars.
The men belonged to Ashok Yadav, an MLA from Shikohabad constituency.
Madhya Pradesh home minister’s son beats up policemen, case registered
MP police have registered a case against Laxmi Ahirwal, son of Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Ram Prasad Ahirwal, sworn-in a few days ago for allegedly barging into the house of a policeman, with his men and thrashing him.
Rejecting his involvement, Laxmi alleged political propaganda in the entire incident.
