March 19, 2009: NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Thursday said he was not in race for Prime Minister's post as his party was aware of the fact that one could not become PM with limited number of MPs.
Pawar said the NCP was not planning to contest Lok Sabha elections in alliance with RJD chief Lalu Prasad and SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Suresh Kalmadi held talks with the NCP chief over contesting elections from Pune parliamentary seat.
Both the parties are yet to reach consensus on the Pune seat.
