Feb 11, 2009: In a major embarrassment to Pramod Muthalik led Sri Ram Sene, the self proclaimed custodians of Indian culture, a group called ‘the consortium of pub going, loose and forward women' launched ‘Pink Chaddi Campaign' to protest the organization's warning against celebrating Valentine Day.

The campaign that was launched on February 5, aims at collecting pink chaddis (panties) from all over the country and courier it to the organization's Bangalore office on Valentine Day.

The women say this is the revenge against unruly people with narrow minded mentality.

The campaign earlier began on the internet, but now it was out on the streets with various collection centers to facilitate its supporters.

The group has also appealed all women to go to pub on V-day and click photographs there so that those could be couriered to the Sene office.

On the internet part of campaign, Nisha Susan, a journalist started a blog for the people to express their views.

Then she thought of taking it further and posted her idea on the blog to which people responded in great numbers from all over the world.

The Ram Sene was in news for attacking a pub in Mangalore on January 25 and for beating up all those present including girls saying the pub culture was corrupting youngsters.

Comment: All those protesting for the sake of Valetine's day
celebration in India should have the guts to walk around in
PINK CHADDI rather giving it to Sri Ram Sena.Maybe that will
send an even louder message. It's amazing how foolish those
guys celebrating V-Day are. It's not even a religious fervor
nor mentioned in the Bible to any religious scriptures, but
is being used by commercial establishments like Archies etc
to market their greeting cards and other useless gifts.
