Feb 14, 2009: Police Sub-Inspector Moola Ram, in-charge of Rohtak Road police post, was suspended for manhandling a couple in Haryana's Jind district on Friday, the eve of Valentine Day.
Earlier, the residents of a town in Jind had lodged a complaint with the police about two college students, who were staying together in a room, indulging in alleged immoral behavior.
Ram dragged the girl out by her hair and manhandled her.
They later beat up her male friend.
SHO of Jind police station reported this incident to seniors following which he was placed under suspension.
Meanwhile, a departmental inquiry has been ordered, which will be conducted by Superintendent of Police, Jind, it was reported
After Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, now it is the turn of Sri Ram Sene, to target the Valentine Day celebrations in Karnataka.
Sri Ram Sene, led by Pramod Muthalik, was recently in news for attacking a pub in Mangalore on January 25.
Sri Ram Sene activists had beaten up all those present in the pub, including girls.
After a lot of hue and cry, Muthalik and 33 Ram Sene activists were arrested for the pub attack.
