Jun 4, 2009: Body of Dera Sachakhand head Sant Ramanand, shot dead in a clash between two groups in a gurudwara in Austria's capital Vienna last month, was brought to Jalandhar amid tight security arrangements on Thursday.

Final rites of the 57-year-old religious leader would be performed later in the day in Ballan village in Jalandhar.

Meanwhile, scores of Ramanand's devotees have thronged to Jalandhar to pay him their last respects.

Sixteen others were also injured in the May 24 gurudwara firing incident which was followed by violent protests across Punjab by Dera supporters.
