Jul 4, 2009: At least seven people were killed, while several others injured when a bus fell off a flyover in West Bengal's Howrah on Saturday.
The incident occurred when the bus, carrying around 40 people, plunged from the flyover Bankim Setu on a railway track under the bridge.
The wounded have been rushed to a nearby hospital.
The death toll was likely to rise, authorities said.
Efforts were on to rescue those trapped under the debris of the vehicle.
Following the mishap, rail traffic in the region has been affected.
Around 20 people were killed and several others injured when a bus plunged into Chambal river near Devri in Madhya Pradesh on June 1.
On May 21, five employees of software major Infosys had died, while 23 others wounded when a bus carrying them met accident in Karnataka's Belgaum.
