Shah Rukh Khan Refuses to Play Character Resembling Raj Thackeray

Jul 1, 2009: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has refused to play MNS chief Raj Thackeray-like character in upcoming movie Mumbai Tiger.

The flick was offered to SRK by Raju Kokate.

Now, Marathi film actor Ashok Shinde would be essaying the role resembling the firebrand leader.

The superstar, under fire for his alleged remarks on Prophet Mohammed, is likely to have turned down the project to shun controversies surrounding him.



 

Background

Shah Rukh Khan is considered as the most popular actor of Bollywood.

Shah Rukh made his debut with film Deewana in 1992.

Since then Shah Rukh, also known as King Khan has ruled the box-office with many successful flicks like Darr, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kal Ho Naa Ho.

SRK has 13 Filmfare Awards under his belt, seven of which he won in the Best Actor category.

Besides acting, Shah Rukh has also produced films and hosted popular TV shows like Kaun Banega Crorepati.
