Apr 10, 2009: Congress president Sonia Gandhi and NCP chief Sharad Pawar would hold a joint rally at Sakoli in Maharashtra's Bhandara District ahead of Lok Sabha elections on Friday.

Sonia and Pawar would be campaigning for NCP leader Praful Patel who is contesting polls from Bhandara-Gondia constituency.

The rally is considered significant as Pawar had addressed a gathering with BJD chief Naveen Patnaik in Orissa two days ago; triggering speculations of keeping his post-election alliance open.

The Congress president would also address election gatherings for her party candidates from Chandrapur, Yavatmal and Ramtek.
