Jul 2, 2009: Top Taliban commander Mullah Fazlullah has been killed in army's operation against the terror group in restive Swat region, claimed Iftikhar Hussain, Information Minister of Pakistan's North West Frontier Province (NWFP).
Fazlullah carried a price of Rs 40 lakh on his head.
The Pakistan government though has not officially confirmed the death of the militant.
Hussain said 21 top Taliban terrorists had been killed in army's mission against the terror group so far.
Taliban militants have a strong control over the north-west region and the border areas of Pakistan.
Rescue aid workers and members of foreign embassies are kidnapped from these areas.
Earlier, two Afghan diplomats, two Chinese engineers and an Iranian diplomat were also abducted from north-west Pakistan.
