Train Mows Down Six School Children near Solapur

Aug 13, 2009: Six school children were mowed down by a train merely two kms from the Solapur junction on Thursday.

 

All the children were in the age group of 10 to 15 years.

 

The children who were crossing the railway track could not spot the Solapur-Hyderabad train.

Background

On April 29, four people were killed and 11 others injured when an unidentified person drove an EMU out of Chennai railway station, which later collided with a goods train at Vysarpadi.

In July 2008, 32 passengers, including a pregnant woman were charred to death when fire broke out in the Kakinada-bound Gautami Express in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh.
