Mangala is shattered when Anushka and Shalaka agree to emigrate to US at Tribhuvan's insistence.

 

Mangala thinks of a plan. She announces her decision to marry Babulal, her landlord. When Anushka, Shalaka and Tribhuvan get the news, they make their displeasure known to Mangala.

 

Shalaka suspects the plan as a conspiracy by Mangala to stop her and she cancels her decision to emigrate. But when Mangala insists on marrying Babulal, Shalaka breaks all ties with her and leaves with Anushka and Tribhuvan.

 

Babulal is confused about Mangala's decision. She reveals to him that she did not want her daughters to regret having left her in India and hence she floated the marriage plan.

Story

Mangala Trivedi runs a spice shop in Bhuleshwar, Mumbai. Popularly called Masala Mami, Mangala single-handedly raised her two daughters, Anushka and Shalaka after the death of her husband, Tribhuvan 22-years-ago.

 

Her daughter Anushka's engagement to Rahul goes off smoothly after initial hiccups and everything is hunky dory in Mangala's life, till the arrival of Tribhuvan.
