Jaya and Madhur have been married for seven years. Jaya is a committed housewife and has no time for her husband. Jaya's indifference has given Madhur a free hand. Flirtatious by nature, Madhur woos Rekha, his secretary. Rekha reciprocates Madhur's advances unaware that he is already married.
Suchak, a common friend of Madhur and Jaya gets a hint that Madhur might be involved with Rekha. He tips off Jaya, who demands an explanation from her husband. Caught on the wrong foot, Madhur tries to manipulate the matter. But Suchak blows the whistle.
Feeling cheated, Rekha calls her brother, Krishnan, an underworld don by profession. Krishnan threatens to kill Jaya and Madhur's parents if Madhur does not to marry Rekha immediately.
Jaya is under pressure to allow Madhur to marry Rekha but she refuses to give up.

A hilarious Gujarati play directed by Vipul Mehta, Parnine Pastaya, revolves around Jaya (Ketaki Dave), a typical house wife and her romantic husband Madhur (Rasik Dave).
Madhur wants Jaya to look fashionable and be as romantic as him. But Jaya, who is bogged down with daily chores, has no time for romance and refuses to oblige Madhur.
Fed-up, Madhur woos his secretary Rekha, and even goes to the extent of marrying her.
Suchak (Mukesh Rawal), Jaya's best friend and well-wisher, advises her to teach Madhur a lesson of his life. Jaya therefore announces her retirement and passes on the baton of responsibilities to Rekha.
