Elderly couple Dinanath and his wife Rama eagerly await the homecoming of their two sons Neil and Nayan, who will return after many years. While Rama is delirious with joy, Dinanath, a professor, is happy but calm and composed.
Their joy is not shared by the couple's widowed daughter Charu. Vagaries of time have made Charu mentally strong and practical. When Rama expresses her desire to spend rest of life with her sons, Charu warns her against keeping high expectations from them.
The house erupts in joy when Neil and Nayan arrive. In the evening, when the family sits together, Dinanath informs Neil and Nayan, his and Rama's wish to spend rest of life with them. Nayan and Neil's reply shocks Dinanath and Rama as they refuse to oblige their parents.
What will Dinanath do now? Can Rama come to terms with the situation? What's Charu's take on her brothers?
