In the August 19 episode of Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan aired on Zee TV, Ramesh calls up Akash and informs him that Payal has attempted suicide. Akash visits Payal in the hospital and accidently leaves his mobile phone behind.

Later when Gauri calls up Akash, Payal picks up the phone and lies by saying that Akash is with her.

Bapuji is upset when he finds out that Nikhil has registered a missing report for Suman Bhabhi in the police station.

Bhabhi requests a woman to inform her family about where the kidnappers have kept her; in return she gives the woman all her jewelry.

Later Janvi spots the woman wearing Bhabhi's jewelry and threatens her into revealing Bhabhi's whereabouts.

The woman shows Janvi the house in which Bhabhi's kidnappers have kept her.

Will Janvi be able to rescue Bhabhi?

Produced by Dheeraj Kumar of Creative Eye and Zuby Kochhar, Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaann is a prime time family drama aired on Zee TV (Monday to Thursday, 10 pm) highlighting the society's prejudice against the girl child.

Suryakant (Yatin Karyekar) heads a Gujarati family and has four daughters named Saraswati (Kshitee Jog), Gauri (Neetha Shetty), Durga (Smriti Mohan) and Lakshmi (Gunjan Walia) from his first wife, Savitri (Aishwarya Narkar). His mother, (Rohini Hattangadi) suggests that he re-marry in order to ensure a male heir.

He marries Menaka (Tanushree Kaushal) who delivers a son, Yuvraj (Romit Raj) who gets all the attention now.

Suryakant's eldest daughter Saraswati is married to Bhavishya (Kartik Sabharwal) but she later divorces him and gets married to Kshitij (Hemant Thatte). His second daughter Gauri is unmarried, while the third daughter Durga is married to Ranbir who is Bhavishya's look-alike. His youngest daughter Lakshmi is married to Karan (Yuvraj Malhotra).

Bhavishya wants to avenge the supposed wrong done to him by Saraswati, and in order to harass her, he impersonates Ranbir and constantly troubles her. Saraswati is sure that the person staying in her house is Bhavishya and not Ranbir and plans to unveil the truth.

Meanwhile, Yuvraj gets married to Kajri (Jasveer Kaur) who is a prostitute and later divorces her. He then falls in love with Niyati (Niyati Joshi) and wants to marry her. However, Kajri is against their alliance and tries to create problems for them.
