In the August 27 episode of Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan aired on Zee TV, Janvi humiliates Bapuji in presence of the villagers by revealing that he has not yet conducted Ammaji's last rites. She also reveals Bapuji's injustice towards Bhabhi.
Bapuji is shocked when Bhaiya also supports Janvi and the villagers question Bapuji's role as the Sarpanch of the village.
Later, Bapuji's family gets ready to conduct Ammaji's last rites. Bapuji reaches the spot and asks for forgiveness from his family members. Janvi then convinces Bapuji to conduct Ammaji's last rites.

Suryakant (Yatin Karyekar) heads a Gujarati family and has four daughters named Saraswati (Kshitee Jog), Gauri (Neetha Shetty), Durga (Smriti Mohan) and Lakshmi (Gunjan Walia) from his first wife, Savitri (Aishwarya Narkar). His mother, (Rohini Hattangadi) suggests that he re-marry in order to ensure a male heir.
He marries Menaka (Tanushree Kaushal) who delivers a son, Yuvraj (Romit Raj) who gets all the attention now.
Suryakant's eldest daughter Saraswati is married to Bhavishya (Kartik Sabharwal) but she later divorces him and gets married to Kshitij (Hemant Thatte). His second daughter Gauri is unmarried, while the third daughter Durga is married to Ranbir who is Bhavishya's look-alike. His youngest daughter Lakshmi is married to Karan (Yuvraj Malhotra).
Bhavishya wants to avenge the supposed wrong done to him by Saraswati, and in order to harass her, he impersonates Ranbir and constantly troubles her. Saraswati is sure that the person staying in her house is Bhavishya and not Ranbir and plans to unveil the truth.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj gets married to Kajri (Jasveer Kaur) who is a prostitute and later divorces her. He then falls in love with Niyati (Niyati Joshi) and wants to marry her. However, Kajri is against their alliance and tries to create problems for them.
