ICL India Lose to ICL Bangladesh

Nov 25, 2008 Tue (ICL WS Match 03) ICL Bangladesh defeated ICL India by five wickets in a day-night encounter of the ICL World Series at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

Opener Shahriar Nafees scored unbeaten 70 runs off 54 balls to propel ICL Bangladesh to victory. He hit four 6s and as many fours.

Nafees was helped by Alok Kapali with whom he put on a partnership of 58 runs. Kapali slammed 44 runs off just 23 deliveries which included four 6s.

Rajamani Jesuraj and Inder Shekhar Reddy picked up two wickets each, while Ali Murtaza scalped one wicket for ICL India.

Earlier, batting first the Indian team kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and managed to put on a total of 164 for the loss nine wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.

Skipper Rajagopal Sathish was the top scorer for the ICL India team with 44 runs off just 20 balls. He hit four 6s.

Stuart Binny and opener Ibrahim Khaleel scored 27 runs each.

Mosharraf Hossain led the Bangladesh team's bowling attack with three wickets, while Tapas Baisya picked up two wickets. Mohammad Rafique and Kapali took one wicket each.

Nafees was adjudged Man of the Match.
