With only three contestants remaining in the race, the tension and drama escalates on the sets of SaReGaMaPa Challenge 2009. Each contestant is to sing two songs back to back and whoever sings the best will win a special prize.

 

Soumen Nandi comes on first with Meri Umar Ke Naujawanon (Karz, 1980) and Dekho Dekho Shaam Badi Deewani (Om Shanti Om, 2007). Though his attempts are applauded, the judges expect even better of him. Nonetheless, he receives a History.

 

Vaishali Mhade sings the songs Hothon Pe Aisi Baat Main (Jewel Thief, 1967) and Honth Raseele Tere with her usual élan and her mentor Hinesh Reshammiya's is full of pride. The judges get into an argument once again when Himesh requests the audience to vote for her due to her personal circumstances.

 

Finally the powerhouse singer Yashita Yashpal Sharma steps up and sings Pyar Mein Dil Pe Maar De Goli (Mahaan, 1983) and Pyar Ki Yeh Kahani Suno (Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd, 2007) and Aadesh Srivastav is in awe of this young singer's range.

 

Though all three contestants are awarded with Histories, when Aditya hands over the final decision to the three mentors, they get into a fierce war of words and Aadesh and Pritam walk off the sets.

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 is the second edition of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge series. Hosted by Aditya Narayan, son of the famous playback singer Udit Narayan, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 is a singing competition showcasing talent from all over the world. This year's contest is judged by Bollywood's top music directors like Himesh Reshammiya (Rock Gharana), Shankar Mahadevan (Lakshya Gharana), Pritam (Dhoom Gharana) and Aadesh Shrivastava (Jai Gharana).

The four mentors would groom the title aspirants and help the audience select the most worthy.
