In the Aug 12 episode of Maayka aired on Zee TV, the young girl accused of bringing ill luck to the village is asked to testify her purity in the presence of Durga Maa. The villagers ask her to place her hand on the flame of a lamp. As soon as the girl does so, the flame extinguishes. The villagers regard this as Maa Durga's verdict in favor of the girl.
This incident changes the attitude of the villagers and they readily accept her into their fold.
Mahi, happy at the turn of events, returns home with the rest of the family. Later in the evening, Shabd returns home unaware of the fact that the police along with Jeet followed him. When he realizes that he may soon be caught, he quickly acts and manages to escape with Mahi and the children.

A family drama, produced by Dheeraj Kumar of Creative Eye, and aired during prime time on Zee TV (Monday to Friday, 8 pm), Maayka is about a young girl, Soni, who remains strongly attached to her maiden home even after her marriage. The story explores the girl's lifelong bond with her maternal home.
After losing her parents in a bomb blast, Soni finds a confidante in her younger sister Maahi (Neha Bamb). Life changes after Soni's marriage to Veer (Vineet Raina) as she is not well accepted by her in-laws.
A fateful turn of events ruins Soni's life as she is widowed soon after marriage. A rude shock awaits her when she comes to know that her ex-boyfriend Jeet (Romit Raj; earlier played by Vikrant Rai) is now married to her sister-in-law Charanjit aka Cherry (Damini Anand). Angered at this revelation, Soni's mother-in-law (Shoma Anand) and Cherry make plans to oust her from the household. It is in fact Cherry who accidentally kills her own brother Veer while planning to kill Soni.
Soni now has to fight for her own survival even while trying to find justice for herself.
