Kunti brings the Pandavas and Krishna to be blessed by Kunti. When Gandhari blesses Yudhishthir to be happy, he says he cannot overcome the fact the Bheem was the one who killed Dushasan and Duryodhan. Gandhari says Bheem did not kill them but punished them for tainting the name of their family and humiliating a woman.
Dhritarashtra asks Gandhari to prepare for their move to the forest. Kunti explains to her sons that it is necessary for them to move to the forest because until the past does not recede, the present cannot thrive. Krishna understands the importance of them moving to the forest but says that will have to wait till Yudhishthir is formally crowned the king of Hastinapur.
Yudhishthir is crowned the new king of Hastinapur in an extravagant ceremony. Yudhishthir thanks the people, present and deceased, who were responsible for making him the king. He says Hastinapur can become an example of what can happen when a king puts his personal interest before the welfare of his kingdom.
Yudhishthir says though they must forget the past, the lessons of the past must not be forgotten and appoints Vidur as the chief minister so that he can be a reminder of their past. He makes Bheem the prince, Arjun is chosen to protect their borders and Nakul and Sahdev are chosen to be his chief bodyguards.
He says the people of Hastinapur have faced enough pain and misery and they must get ready to help their king in making their kingdom beautiful again so that they can see peace and prosperity.
